La Bahia
Robotics is for Everyone!
La Bahía is a small fishing town of roughly 800-900 people and the school in the town is severely underfunded. To paint the picture, this school has very few STEM classes, doesn't have laptops for the students and doesn't even have access to consistent running water. Our team has been visiting La Bahia since the 80’s and we always wanted to find a way to give back to them; with your help we are able to do that!
We spent a week down in La Bahia, prepping the equipment, training the staff and working with the kids. We had the entire school of 35 kids show up for the event and they all had such a blast. They built small base bots, then did a bumper-car competition. Everyone loved the experience and were so grateful for the opportunity!

During the 2024 VEX Robotics Southern California State Championships, we hosted a fundraiser to start a robotics program for La Bahia. Thanks to all of our generous donors, we were able to raise enough money to bring down 5 IQ Classroom kits, 1 field, 5 amazon tablets and a lot of extra donated parts.
